The One Stop Shop for Equine Rug Maintenance in Cornwall
Our washing & proofing process is completed in five stages
Although we exercise the utmost care, pre-existing damage can be increased by the washing agitation, accordingly we cannot accept responsibility for any increase in damage due to a failure to adequately repair rugs prior to washing.
Horse urine, dung, etc acts as a natural dye; therefore, because we are unable to increase the washing temperature without risking irreparable damage to the rug, and despite our best efforts in spot treating, occasionally some residual staining may remain post washing. This is especially relevant on edge bindings and white cotton linings
Although highly efficient, the proofing agent cannot prevent leakage through tears or holes in the fabric. Rugs must also be clean before application. Irrespective of apparent 'cleanliness' we will not proof rugs with detrimental damage to the outer fabric or without OUR pre-washing first
Rugs are then hung in purpose built, de-humidified rooms and air dried. This is far gentler than tumble drying and prevents shrinkage.
